X-NINE (X玖少年团) is an eight-member boy group under Wajijiwa Entertainment. Originally with nine members, they debuted on September 28, 2016 with their self-titled extended play X-NINE. The group was formed through Zhejiang Satellite TV's variety show X-FIRE.
History[]
2015-2016: X-FIRE, debut, Super Star Academy[]
On November 21, 2015, EE-Media and Zhejiang Satellite TV produced the survival show X-FIRE (燃烧吧少年), in which 16 trainees were pitted against each other to form a new boy group.
In 2016, they were cast in the drama Super Star Academy.[1]
2018: "We Want What We Want", Keep Online and Zexi's departure[]
In 2018, X-NINE released their new EP, Keep Online.[2] In February-March of 2018, Zexi's ex-girlfriend exposed stories of him cheating on her, forcing Zexi to leave the group temporarily.
2019: Produce Camp 2019[]
Chuyue, Zhiguang, Xujia and Zhao Lei became contestants on Tencent's reality show Produce Camp 2019. Zhiguang, Xujia and Zhao Lei reached the top 11, becoming members of R1SE.
