NAME (NAME组合) is a four-member Chinese girl group under Yuehua Entertainment. Originally as seven, the group debuted on December 10, 2021 with the digital single "Say My Name".
History[]
Pre-debut[]
On December 1, 2021, the group's official SNS were opened along with the reveal of their name "NAME" and the motion video of their logo.[1] One day later on December 2, Li Siyang and Feng Ruohang were officially announced as the group's first members,[2][3] followed by Long Yunzhu, Ouyang Chengxi, and Li Jiajia on December 3,[4][5][6] and Liu Jiaxin and Jin Zihan on December 4.[7][8]
2021-2022: Debut with "Say My Name", "Red Shoes"[]
On December 8, the group's debut single "Say My Name" was announced to be released on December 10.[9]
On March 31, the group made their first comeback with the digital single "Red Shoes".
2023: "On Play", Line-up changes[]
On April 25, the group released their second digital single "On Play".
On October 19, NAME announced the beginning of a new variety show titled "人不怕出名猪不怕壮" to determine the future of the group. Only the top four voted members of the group will be able to continue promotions as NAME.[10]
On November 19, the first survival ranking announcement was released. In order of votes, the placements were Jin Zihan, Long Yunzhu, Feng Ruohang, Ouyang Chengxi, Li Siyang, Liu Jiaxin, and Li Jiajia. Due to her last placement ranking, Li Jiajia was dismissed from the group. The same day it was revealed that Jin Zihan had withdrawn from the competition and the group, immediately ceasing activities with NAME.[11]
On December 11, the final ranking announcement was released. In order of votes, the placements were Long Yunzhu, Ouyang Chengxi, Liu Jiaxin, Li Siyang, and Feng Ruohang. Due to her last placement ranking, Feng Ruohang was dismissed from the group.[12] The final line-up was finalized as Yunzhu, Chengxi, Jiaxin, and Siyang.
2024: Fandom name & color, Be Bold[]
On August 10, NAME announced its official group color "Tender tea purple" and fandom name "Nami" as well as revealing the group's new logo.[13] The next day, on August 11, the group announced its next upcoming mini-album Be Bold with the title track "Sweet Chilli".[14][15]
