AIM (银河少女; also known as Galaxy Girls) is a six-member Chinese independent girl group. Originally as five, the group debuted on October 9, 2023 with the digital single "Trick or Treat".
History[]
Pre-debut[]
On May 16, 2023, AIM opened their auditions to find members for their group[1]; On July 4, it was confirmed that the group would be coming soon.[2] The same day the account revealed its members, consisting of Ding Ju, former Produce Camp 2020 contestants Kang Xi, Ji Yangliu, and Liu Yulu, and former Produce 48 contestant Wang Ke.
2023: Debut with "Trick or Treat"[]
On October 5, 2023, AIM confirmed that the group would make their debut on October 9 with the digital single "Trick or Treat".[3]
On December 21, 2023, the group announced they would be opening recruitment for second generation members.[4]
2024: Wang Ke's hiatus, Line-up changes, Second generation[]
On December 31, 2023, Wang Ke was confirmed as a contestant on the reality survival show Chuang Asia Thailand.[5] On April 6, 2024, she placed sixth on the final episode, thus becoming a member of the project girl group Gen1es. Due to her promotions with Gen1es, she will go on an indefinite hiatus from group activites with AIM.
On July 28, 2024, it was announced that Liu Yulu would be departing the group due to personal reasons.[6]
On July 29, 2024, it was announced that Wu Miaoyin and Zhou Yuyang had joined the group.[7][8]
On August 2, 2024, the group announced five new second generation trainee members: Li Jingjing, Mi Ke, Zhao Shuyu, Zhou Beibei, and Zhu Jiaxin.[9] However, on October 2, the group had announced a new line-up of second generation trainee members including Mao Xiaoyu, Shen Jiayi, and Qiu Yuxin.[10]
